In 1966, John Lennon commented that the Beatles had become “more popular than Jesus.” This April, John Lennon and Jesus – or at least toy action figures representing them – will reconcile on the Skirball stage. Joining them will be a professor teaching a crash course on Christianity 101, a preacher of the ‘Church of Me’ trading a crucifix for a mirror, a flight attendant on ‘Air Jesus’ answering prayers via his laptop, and a singer with a rousing musical number a la Andrew Lloyd Webber. All performed by Rick Miller, who has been named one of the Most Creative People Alive by Entertainment Weekly.

Rick Miller is one of Canada’s most respected multi-disciplinary performers, and a veritable tour-de-force in the international theater scene. He trained in Montreal as an architect, actor, musician, playwright and is a frequent collaborator with renowned director Robert Lepage.
April 5: Post-show panel discussion on Faith & Tradition. An Interfaith panel will respond individually to the show, and then we will open up to the audience for a brief moderated discussion.
