Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò is home to the Department of Italian Studies at New York University and was founded with the specific intent of spreading Italian culture outside of its national boundaries while being a central academic and cultural resource to the University. Since its inception twenty years ago, Casa Italiana has become a source of pride for the Italian-American community with rich and diverse programming in Italian art, literature, cinema and politics.
The 20th anniversary celebration pays tribute to its founder and inspiration, Baroness Mariuccia Zerilli-Marimò. The evening’s performances will include Maestro Marco Armiliato conducting the NYU Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera soloist Maija Kovalevska (Bohème, Adventures) as well as highlights from Light in the Piazza featuring Broadway performers from the casts of Hair, Phantom of the Opera, and La Cage Aux Folles - all of whom trained in the NYU Steinhardt Music Theatre Program.
Please note, tickets for this event purchased through the Skirball Center are for general admission to the performance only. For more information about the Anniversary Benefit Celebration that includes attending both the performance and a gala dinner please contact Joanna Hootnick 212.998.6944 or David Koehler at 212.998.6995.
