Dan Zanes and Friends perform exuberant, handmade "21st century social music" for enthusiastic crowds of kids and kids-at-heart. Filled with irresistible grooves drawn from a wealth of musical traditions, Zanes, his Brooklyn based band and his surprising and eclectic special guests, create an interactive experience where people of all ages sing and dance with wild abandon. It's a big musical party and everyone's invited!
Just one week prior to the show the band will release Little Nut Tree, their first family album in five years and the official follow up album to their 2007 Grammy winner Catch That Train. The album will be a return to the age-desgregated mixed musical bag approach that has earned Zanes his place at the forefront of the family music genre.
Join us in celebrating both a new album from these Grammy award winners and the start of the new Big Red Chair season
The Skirball Center's Big Red Chair Family Series is made possible in part with generous support from Joan Ganz Cooney and L. Jay and Mary Ellen Oliva with additional support from Con Edison for family educational and enrichment programming.
