CANCELED: Israel Galván: Fla.Co.Men

The maverick Spanish flamenco dancer Israel Galván is an artist known for his flair and eccentricity, and for pushing the boundaries of the Flamenco tradition. In Fla.co.men, Galván’s dancing fills the stage with its avant-garde spirit, mirrored by different virtuoso musicians with their instruments.

Israel Galván, winner of the 2005 Spanish National Dance Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture, is recognized for his innovative choreography and refined technique. He has been an outstanding figure in the avant-garde contemporary flamenco scene for over twenty years. Son of Sevillian bailaores José Galván and Eugenia de Los Reyes, he naturally grew up within the atmosphere of tablaos, fiestas, and flamenco dance academies. In 1994, he joined the Compañía Andaluza de Danza, directed by Mario Maya, beginning an unstoppable career that would bring him the most important awards in flamenco and dance.
