ABOUT
ABOUT
Everyone knows Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga make it strange again. In Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione they take the most familiar music in the world, Vivaldi‘s storms and birdsong and thaw, set to Amandine Beyer and Gli Incogniti‘s electric recording, and open it out into pattern, geometry, and moving bodies until the score sounds new. Spring arrives, and it is no longer a ringtone but a question about a planet whose seasons no longer hold.
De Keersmaeker is one of the defining choreographers of the last half-century, and this is her closing the season with a beloved warhorse turned into a fresh act of attention. Lucid, meditative, and quietly urgent, it asks what Vivaldi’s hymn to nature means now, when nature itself has come unsettled.
Three reasons to go
Three reasons to go
HOT OFF THE PRESSES – A new work from Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, among the most influential living choreographers, in its NYC premiere.
MORE THAN A CLASSIC – A radical re-hearing of the most familiar score in classical music, danced as geometry, weather, and warning.
A GRAND FINALE – A meditative, ecologically charged close to the season, danced to one of the great recordings of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

THE ARTISTs
THE ARTISTs
Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker
Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has spent four decades exploring the relationship between dance and music in works that have reshaped contemporary choreography. Awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale and honored with major international distinctions including the Bessie Award, the Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award, and France’s Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, she remains one of contemporary dance’s essential figures. NYU Skirball has previously presented three of her major works — Mitten wir im Leben sind/Bach6Cellosuiten, The Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, and EXIT ABOVE — deepening an ongoing relationship with her work. Radouan Mriziga is a Brussels-based Moroccan choreographer whose vocabulary builds on mathematical and geometric structure; he leads the collective A7LA5 and previously collaborated with De Keersmaeker on 3ird5 @ w9rk. Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione, choreographed in 2024, is set to the celebrated recording by violinist Amandine Beyer and her ensemble Gli Incogniti.
Radouan Mriziga
Radouan Mriziga is a Marrakesh-born choreographer and dancer based in Brussels, whose training spans Morocco, Tunisia, and France before his graduation from P.A.R.T.S. Having collaborated with luminaries such as Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Bart Meuleman, he has since 2014 developed a singular practice probing the intersection of the human form, architecture, and spatial geometry. His Atlas trilogy, which debuted at the Dream City festival in Tunis, examines Amazigh culture as a site of embedded, often obscured knowledge, transforming the moving body into a medium for ancestral memory and recovery.
