Musical Director Jimmy Vivino and Mark Barden of The Promise Band lead this multi-artist benefit concert featuring Sheryl Crow, Peter Frampton, Kevin Bacon, Bernie Williams, Rozzi, The Dumes, The Alternate Routes, Jen Chapin, Aztec Two-Step 2.0 and special guests. This one-of-a-kind show will be filmed as a docu-concert and will tell a story through video and live performances. The beneficiary of the event is Sandy Hook Promise.
This concert celebrates the launch of A Father’s Promise. Directed by Rick Korn and Executive Produced by Sheryl Crow, the film is about professional musician Mark Barden, whose son Daniel was murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary. Mark lost all joy in music and became a powerful voice for change when he co-created Sandy Hook Promise. The film follows his progression back to playing music again with the help of a cast of superstar musicians featuring performances and interviews from Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town, DMC, Bernie Williams as well as music by John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Steve Winwood, David Shaw (The Revivalists) and more.
As an outgrowth of the film, Mark Barden and Rick Korn teamed up with Matthew Reich and Neal Saini of Artist For Artist and created Artist For Action to Prevent Gun Violence with a long list of popular music artists joining the coalition from its inception (Billie Eilish, Peter Gabriel, Nile Rodgers, etc.).
