Clay Shirky is Associate Professor at the Arthur L. Carter Center of Journalism in FAS and Associate Arts Professor in Tisch School of the Arts’ Interactive Telecommunications Program. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Chief Information Officer at NYU Shanghai. Before joining NYU’s full-time faculty in fall 2004, he was a partner at an international investment company, and was the original Professor of New Media at Hunter College, where he helped design its MFA in Integrated Media Arts program. Currently, Shirky is a faculty associate at Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society, and was the 2010 Edward R. Murrow Visiting Lecturer at Harvard’s Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy.

Adah Deveaux (Turker/Collaborator) My name is Adah Deveaux. I originally hail from The Bahamas. I graduated with a Bachelors in Biology from Florida A&M University in 2019. I currently work online and I am preparing to enter the field of Medical Technology.  In my spare time I enjoying salsa dancing and gaining more knowledge in Astrology.

Noel Castle (Turker/Collaborator) is from Southwest New Mexico, and has been using Mechanical Turk for about six years.

Sybil Lanham (Turker/Collaborator) is from Alabama, has been turking for over a decade, and is a widow.

Michelle Brown (Turker/Collaborator) is a Brooklyn raised native New Yorker. She currently resides in The Bronx where she continues to pursue her career in acting and music production. She went to Fashion Institute of Technology where she learned Haute Couture and Ladies Tailoring. As Michelle is pursuing her dreams, she is constantly finding ways to make money online. Right now she is working online as an Amazon Turker, Surveyor, Test Rater, Website Tester & Influencer/Creator.  Her social media handle on TikTok & Insta @shellycoolsinger
